The PDP has been dealing with an internal crisis as a result of calls for Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, to quit from Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers, and some other party players.
The reason for the resignation is that Ayu comes from the same region as the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
One of the party members who has supported Wike’s demands is Fayose.
At a Wike-hosted gathering in Rivers state in September, Fayose urged supporters of PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to take the “necessary” action.
“I want to think that Atiku Abubakar, his excellency, is not against you, but allow me to say this quickly. Many of the individuals who surround the throne are its opponents, and many of them have a grudge against someone or have difficulties with someone, which they take to extremes, according to Fayose, who spoke to Wike.
“Neither a living thing inside this party nor a living thing outside this party will fail to recognize your contribution to this party.
“Even today, you are the heart and spirit of this gathering. How many people do what you do?
The former Ekiti governor requested the PDP to talk with Peter Obi, the candidate for the PDP in November.
The former governor of Anambra ran for vice president in the PDP’s 2019 presidential primary with Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president.

According to Fayose, the chances of PDP could be impacted by Obi’s involvement in the 2023 presidential race.
The chairman of the council was mentioned on the list of Ekiti PCC appointees as Bisi Kolawole, a former candidate for governor and Fayose’s supporter.
The appointments are effective immediately, according to a statement released on Sunday by Aminu Tambuwal, director-general of the PDP presidential campaign organization.
